The Museum is located in Hendersonville, which is 20 miles south of Asheville in Western North Carolina. The Museum is at 135 4th Ave West in historic downtown Hendersonville. "I wanted to preserve the memory of the series for the people who worked on it and for the people who have shown interest in it" said producer Dave Christiano. "It was the first ever prime time Christian drama series in the history of broadcasting and I felt that was significant and worth noting". The Museum features the exact sets used in the series including the "Green Room", "Scene Design", "Ladies Dressing Room" and "Joanna's Office". Other sets included are the cab set, Rudy's lightboard, "Star Mission", "Death Row" and "The Bus Stop". Also highlighted are different props, set pieces, wardrobe, and all 64 scripts used by Dave Christiano in the series. The location is also a retail store for Christian Films, home for the website ChristianFilms.com. In addition, items are on display from some of the 12 movies produced by the Christiano Brothers, Dave and Rich. They have released their last four films to theaters under the distribution company they formed called "Five and Two Pictures". Those films include Time Changer, Unidentified, Me & You, Us, Forever, and The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry. The Museum and store is open every afternoon Monday thru Saturday or can be scheduled for viewing by appointment (828-215-1860). Admission is free. The Smokey Mountain area gets over 9 million visitors a year and Hendersonville is located right near by. So if you are traveling this way, please be sure to stop by the Museum and say hello. |
